Dance

House of Wingz is a dance company rooted in street dance and culture, born in Blackpool in 2006. What began in the heat of battles and cyphers has grown into a dynamic hub for dance, creativity, and empowerment. We teach foundation and choreography, and cultivate an environment that fosters growth and confidence in freestyle dancing across the full spectrum of street styles- building not only strong dancers, but confident, expressive individuals.

We don’t follow a blueprint. At House of Wingz, we do things differently. We’re a family first, and we recognise that every dancer has a different story, a different set of barriers, and their own path to growth. Our mentorship is personal, built on care, connection and creativity. We work together to shape each individuals future in dance.

We create original performance work for stage, screen, festivals and live events. From local streets to national platforms, we offer real world experiences that challenge, inspire and elevate. Whether performing in front of millions of people for the queens platinum jubilee, to 60,000 on their doorstep for the Blackpool illuminations switch on, or broadcast nationally on ITV’s New Year’s Eve Big Bash, our dancers gain proud moments they’ll never forget and steps towards a future they can own.

We’ve developed opportunities for young dancers in Blackpool to earn regular paid work through our residency shows, giving them professional experience from a young age. We train our dancers not just to perform, but to lead, offering pathways into teaching, choreography and peer mentorship that build purpose and a powerful sense of belonging.

Our dance programme connects Blackpool’s young artists with global talent through guest workshops, creative residencies and international exchanges that bring the world to our doorstep. And through partnerships with organisations like Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention, Showtown Museum, Blackpool School of Arts and The Grand Theatre, we’re opening doors and creating space for aspiration to thrive.

Everything we do feeds into a bigger picture- a belief that young dancers from Blackpool who deserve to be part of shaping the future of culture in their hometown. We are proud of our local heritage as the beating heart of dance, performance and entertainment in Britain. And we’re here to keep that legacy alive by creating something energetic, exciting and rooted in our community, one dancer at a time.
