Youth Leadership​

This is HOW is our youth leadership programme, a space where young creatives grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

 

These young people are not just shaping their own futures they are playing a part in shifting the story of Blackpool. They inspire others to feel proud of where they are from, helping younger children feel more positive, motivated and full of possibility.

Through their leadership, they are helping House of wingz to challenge negative perceptions of our town and build new narratives routed in hope and aspiration. 

​

Since launching in 2015, This is HOW has supported over 30 young people from Blackpool to gain valuable leadership skills, accreditations and experience that stays with them for life. 

​

After two years training with House of Wingz, young people can apply to become part of the programme. With the guidance of a mentor, they develop they leadership practise and begin to deliver practical sessions for children in the community, stepping into roles where they can lead with purpose and care. 

​

Many of our leaders have gone on to work with us at house of Wingz, continuing to build their futures in the creative world, and carrying forward the legacy of what we stand for: community, creativity and the courage to lead.
