HAF Programme

School holidays are the perfect time for young people to stay active, creative and connected, and that's exactly what we offer through our Holiday activities and food (HAF) programme.

Every school holiday, we welcome hundreds of children to take part in a wide range of fun, inspiring, and enriching activities. Whether it’s dancing, exploring new skills, or making new friends, our HAF sessions are all about keeping young people engaged, happy, and healthy while out of their usual routine.

At the heart of everything we do is Dance.  We believe that movement and music are for everyone. Dance helps build confidence, express individuality, and develop life skills like communication, teamwork, empathy, and problem-solving. But it doesn’t stop there!

We know that creativity comes in many forms. That’s why our programme also includes activities like:

  • Creative writing

  • DJing and music production

  • Photography and drawing

  • Arts, crafts, and design

  • Skateboarding and parkour

  • Performance opportunities

We also support mental wellbeing with mindfulness activities such as meditation and yoga, help young people learn about other cultures through learning phrases I other languages, and bring in amazing guest organisations like Upbeat Rock Academy, Pot Bound, and Blackpool Literacy Trust to enrich the experience even more.

And of course, staying healthy means eating well too. That’s why every HAF session includes a free, hot, nutritious meal for every child, encouraging healthy habits, trying new foods, and supporting a balanced diet. We also introduce our groups to food from other places around the world, such as Filipino, Polish, African & Caribbean foods.

Our HAF programme is a space where young people can grow, explore, and thrive. Come move, make, and discover with us! It's easy to sign up, just select the enrol tab and fill in our membership form. We will contact you with further information on the programme.

it is a lifeline for me as a disabled single parent, the holidays are exhausting for me. HAF means they are occupied and fed which helps me out, they come home tired, full and ready to chill out. The food saves me money too- big help.

My kids are obsessed with Dance now and I am so happy it's not costing a fortune to send them here. I am a single mum and i struggle but I don't want them to miss out on hobbies. They always run out with a big smile ready to show me their moves. They have progressed so much very fast and I think this is such a good opportunity for kids.

Can't believe the difference in my kid, so confident, getting up in front of a room full of people, dancing, eating fruit and veg? He absolutely loves the staff, takes about them all and wants to be a dance teacher now apparently.

It feels good to share our passion with the kids and to get the experience in leading them. I think they like it because we are young and they can relate to us, and also a few of them have told me that they want to be a Dance leader now too, which is cute. For me, HAF is helping me get experience in leading and my confidence has grown so much since doing that. That has helped me to get a job, so I am really happy.

I liked feeling confident and brave to go on stage and I liked it when we had to think of something we like about each other and say it out loud.

My kids have been to a few different HAF clubs but what I like with this one is they learn about things like listening to each other, respecting, supporting each other, it's brilliant. I also like that they have tried to be adventurous with the foods, not just a packed lunch they get a proper meal and have even been eating African meals and stuff like stir fry which they would't touch at home before. They love the staff too. Keep up the good work.

If you get it right or you don't people still cheer to make you feel confident and strong.

In the holidays I have mum guilt because I just can't afford to take my kids on the rides on the pier or the attractions in Blackpool so I feel stuck on what to do especially in summer. We go to the park but I don't feel safe letting them play out, so they are stuck inside a lot. My youngest has ADHD and struggles in groups because of behaviour so I have a lot of problems finding a good group that he can join, but school recommended this House of Wingz HAF and Its been fab. He loves it here. They are really patient and encouraging and help him understand his ADHD better and help him cope and we realised that dance and music actually help him calm down.
